Totally agreed. Legal scamming. Should not be legal at all. I was understanding the 'free trial' bit and figured I would send the items back in time however life got in the way. Fine. But I did not see the bit about if you don't cancel your membership they KEEP charging you every month to ship out more. OK, fine, my fault for not seeing that. BUT - here's the thing. The stuff is crap. The brushes were broken and they shipped a replacement brush which was ALSO broken and one of the make up containers was broken. It was in such a way that you know it wasn't damaged in shipping. I tried to ask them to refund my money based on the product actually being damaged but it seems they are so used to denying angry customers over their scam that they also denied me over broken product. Sure, they'd refund the costs but not the shipping and I also had to pay MORE to ship the broken stuff back to them. I should not personally be out any funds when the company couldn't not ship me the quality they promised.
Yes, in the end, a complaint to the BBB resolved the issue with the refunds. They are quick to keep the BBB happy here. But really - is it OK to jerk people around knowing you'll ONLY have to refund the people that actually go the extra step at the BBB? PLEASE do not remove this due to the complaint registered. I should NOT have to choose between getting my money back (BBB complaint) and warning others to protect them (review here). That is just not right.
(Also to note, I haven't actually seen any refunds yet, they've just agreed to do it.)
